South coast music legend tours later this year
Leo Sayer is one of Britain’s greatest singer/songwriters with hits that span the 1970s, 1980s,1990s and beyond. He is touring later this year and if you are a fan, you must get hold of tickets as Leo says this will be his final full length tour.

His connections to the south coast are well documented. Born and raised in Shoreham-by-Sea, he went to school in Goring-by-Sea and studied art and graphic design at West Sussex College of Art and Design in Worthing. Even his number two hit song ‘Moonlighting’ from 1975 contains a reference to Worthing’s Montague Street.
He will be performing all his hits at two nearby gigs later this year and will be playing Worthing Assembly Hall on 10 October which will no doubt be a special night given his local connections and Fareham Live on 16 October. Both concerts will be well worth the journey for a chance to see a proper music icon live before he reduces his commitment to live music in his 78th year.

Midge Ure is another legend touring this year - and it is difficult to know where to stop when listing his contributions to music over the decades.
Aside from a successful solo career, he co-wrote and produced the Band Aid single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ with Bob Geldof, as well as being an integral part of the bands Visage and Ultravox. Midge’s ‘A Man Of Two Worlds Tour’ comes to the Portsmouth Guildhall on 3 June so grab your tickets now.
My musical gem: The Small Fakers are one of the UK’s leading tribute acts celebrating the music of 1960’s mod icons The Small Faces. They will be at the Assembly Rooms, North Street, Chichester on 18 July playing all the hits such as ‘All Or Nothing’, ‘Lazy Sunday’, ‘Itchycoo Park’, ‘Tin Soldier’ and many others.
