Sarisbury Green care home praised by national inspectors

A national watchdog has given a care home in Sarisbury Green its seal of approval following an unannounced comprehensive inspection.

Care UK’s Ancasta Grove, on Barnes Lane, was awarded a ‘Good’ rating across all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as part of its two-day evaluation.

The home was assessed across safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and leadership, CQC’s five key lines of enquiry. The report spotlighted the positive sentiments expressed by residents and visiting professionals, with one relative informing the inspectors of the wealth of recreational activities the home offers.

They said: “My relative had a big birthday earlier this year and the staff organised a trip to a local maritime museum, and we had a personal tour behind the scenes!”

Inspectors also highlighted team members’ knowledge of residents’ preferences, wishes and individual life experiences, and how they incorporate this information into providing the best possible care.

The report picked out how the team “treated people as individuals and made sure people’s care, support and treatment met people’s needs and preferences. They took account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics.”

The team at Ancasta Grove was praised for its kindness, empathy and respect. Relatives spoke highly about the attention to detail and passion to help the residents and their relatives.

One relative said: “The staff always chat to me and make me feel welcome. They are so kind. I am so impressed by them.”

Audrey Chiduku, Home Manager at Ancasta Grove, said: “Our commitment to delivering high-quality care is unwavering and we are proud to see this endorsement from the CQC. We believe every resident deserves the best possible care and support, and this rating validates our ongoing efforts to meet and exceed these standards.

“Everyone has contributed to making Ancasta Grove an unparalleled place to live and work. This ‘Good’ rating stands as a testament to the team’s dedication to brightening each resident’s day.

“I’m really proud of the team members, who work so hard to make residents’ lives enjoyable and rewarding. It’s always great to hear such positive feedback and I look forward to celebrating this achievement with the team and continuing to build on our success in delivering exceptional care.”
