First outside live broadcast on the Flash on a sun-kissed beer garden
Connect Peludo Beach (PB) to the Flash (community) radio station with keyboardist/presenter Ade Swatridge, add the Golden Lion pub, Bedhampton (with big thanks to landlord Adrian Sines and regular Neil Terry) and you get the first outside live broadcast at a local venue on the Flash on a sun-kissed sweltering early Sunday afternoon in a packed beer garden.

PB are a popular 5-piece rock, pop and dance covers band gigging in the Solent region, Heidi Lynch (vocals), Trev Mogridge (guitar), Ade, James Cadwell (bass) and Jeff Clark (drums) with a very varied set list
PB played 3 sets , the middle one (for an hour) successfully broadcast live on the Flash, a co-ordination between station director Martin Kirby, man in the studio making sure it all worked, Ken Sim, and sound engineer, Flash favourite, Richard Setford, who did a sterling job. The broadcast went without a hitch

It is never easy for a group of performers to play before a beer garden full of people, there as much for the sun, conversation and beer as well as the music, but PB kept their energy and performance levels as high as possible creating a delightful atmosphere on this sunny afternoon (not a song they did, alas, Kinks fans!)
The volume was loud enough, pitched about right, with the audience well engaged. The group did a great job in honouring the original songs/band
Of course, it is all about the music. I was only able to stay for the first two sets but that was enough to appreciate that PB are a very good outfit, highly recommended. It is difficult to single out any one person as they play as a unit and for me that is to their credit. The mix of songs certainly challenged Heidi as a vocalist but she came through very well whilst Trev was restrained with the occasional flourish, but the right balance. Ade, James and Jeff supported really well
They played quite a variation from Pink (So What) and Anastasia (I’m Outta Love) to two of my favourites in the first set, Duffy (Mercy) and Bryan Adams (When You’re Gone)

In the broadcast set there were several stand-outs for me, Robbie Williams (Let Me Entertain You), Dandy Warhols (Bohemian Like you), fantastic to hear one of my all-time favourite songs, Tina Turner (Simply the Best), Robert Palmer (Bad Case of Loving You), Bryan Adams again (Summer of 69) and Chuck Berry (Johnny B. Goode)
