There was a real buzz in the air at King’s Academy Brune Park as prospective students and families turned out in force for the school’s annual Open Evening. The well-attended event gave local families a firsthand look at a secondary school on the rise in Gosport, celebrating strong academic achievement, modern facilities, and a supportive community culture.

Taking to the stage during the main presentation, the school's Head Student Blake and Deputy Head Student Michael did everyone proud by sharing their own experiences with prospective parents and pupils. Speaking with passion and honesty, they described life at King's Academy Brune Park—from the wide range of extra-curricular clubs and sports to the extensive pastoral support systems, including student-led anti-bullying ambassadors and dedicated inclusion teams.

Visitors were invited to tour the impressive campus facilities, which sparked plenty of enthusiasm among younger guests. Exploring the site, one prospective student was overheard exclaiming: "Wow - you have a swimming pool!" King’s Academy Brune Park is indeed the only school in Gosport featuring an indoor swimming pool, alongside an FA-certified 3G pitch, dedicated drama and dance studios, food technology kitchens, and refurbished science labs.

The vibrant atmosphere throughout the evening reflected the sweeping positive changes happening across the school. Parents shared glowing feedback as they toured the classrooms and met with subject leaders. One parent of a Year 7 pupil remarked: "We had to come and have a look because my son has not stopped talking about how much he enjoys Year 7." Another parent visiting with a prospective pupil noted the dramatic progress made in recent years: "The school is transformed since I last came here with my daughter a couple of years ago."

The evening also highlighted the school's strongest academic performance to date, following its best GCSE results in school history. Highlights include a sharp year-on-year increase in core subjects, with 55.8% of students securing a Grade 4+ in English and Maths, a 100% pass rate in Triple Science and Dance, and 94% pass rates in Music.

At the heart of the school's ethos is its guiding motto: Honesty, Faith, Courage. School leaders emphasise an unwavering commitment to nurturing every individual child, striving for students not only to belong to their community, but to feel they matter and to leave the school equipped with the complete toolkit to succeed on a global stage.

She expressed her immense pride in showcasing the hard work of students and staff and welcomed the opportunity to build even stronger connections across the Gosport community.

With primary school application deadlines approaching on October 31st, King’s Academy Brune Park continues to solidify its position as a thriving, inclusive school of choice for local families.
