Quiz teams invited to a charity quiz to support new companionship café in Locks Heath
Quiz teams are invited to put their thinking caps on for a night of trivia and community spirit on Wednesday 29th April to help local people who are feeling isolated or lonely. Bring along your friends, family, and colleagues for a fun-filled evening of competitive spirit for a great cause.

The quiz starts at 8.30pm and teams will compete at the Sir Joseph Paxton pub in Titchfield, where resident quiz master Gary Parker promises a high-energy atmosphere with lots of fun and a raffle at the end of the night.
The event is part of a wider fundraising initiative by Home Instead Charities and money raised will support the Locks Heath Companionship Café - a weekly "safe space" that provides a lifeline for local people who live alone or need some company. The café will offer a warm welcome, free tea, coffee and cake, and will be somewhere that people can connect and enjoy a sense of community.
Gary Parker said, “Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges facing elderly people in our community and I’m pleased to host the charity quiz and support the new Companionship Café – it isn’t just about tea and cake, it’s about ensuring that older people feel connected and it is nice to be able to help people living near the pub where I'm hosting the quiz and make them smile.

A few teams from Home Instead will be competing on Wednesday night and one of their teams were runners up last time so the competition is high! We also need more raffle prizes - the raffle raises additional money and everyone who wins a prize is happy so it’s a win-win!
If you would like to donate a prize, please email Sam Tanner at [email protected] by midday on Wednesday 29th April or take your prize to the Sir Joseph Paxton pub after 3pm.”
