The competition ran across Saturday and Sunday with 16 teams taking part in the two sets knockout rounds.

On Saturday evening, more than 60 members attended the popular horse racing event with a meal of lasagne and garlic bread. On Sunday past and present Mayoress’ of Fareham came to enjoy the music from DrumNation Tribe, led by a member of the Fareham Bowls club, Jo Bonsor. There were various stalls and competitions inside the club house, helping to raise even more funds.

She commented; “The charity is so grateful to David and all the members of Fareham Bowling Club for their generous support to the Hospice. It’s a vital contribution to enable us to continue our services locally.

The Presidents Cup was finalised on Sunday with teams playing three consecutive games in soaring temperatures. Plenty of hydration breaks, lashings of sun cream and cold towels on hand to cool the players down.
The triumphant winners collected their trophy and medals with the gallant runners up receiving a bottle of wine each.
The fundraising for Rowans Hospice will continue until the close of the outdoor season, when collection pots will be handed over for the final total of money raised.
