Former music scout Harvey Lindsay has launched STRIDE Music, a new platform built to give independent artists more than somewhere to upload their music - providing a place to be discovered, build their profile, connect with other creatives and put themselves in front of the music industry.

Harvey has spent years discovering artists across the UK and internationally, connecting emerging talent with senior figures at major record labels and national radio. His work has helped artists progress from discovery to deals with companies including Columbia, Believe and BMG.

STRIDE brings that experience directly into the platform. Artists can upload and stream their music, create a dedicated profile showcasing their socials and upcoming shows, and make themselves available to collaborate with artists, producers and songwriters.

But STRIDE's focus goes beyond streaming. Harvey personally listens to artists on the platform, identifies standout talent and provides feedback, with the strongest unsigned artists considered for STRIDE's editorial features and introductions through his industry network.

The platform is also being built around the wider experience of being an independent artist, with an online busking feature currently in development to help bring grassroots performers into the STRIDE community.

STRIDE was founded alongside Harvey's cousin and business partner Joshua Lindsay, who has engineered the platform from the ground up, combining music-industry expertise with technology.

Just three months after launch, STRIDE has grown to around 200 active users, with its community continuing to develop across the platform and Instagram.

That community is already beginning to grow organically, when Harvey recently approached a busker in Covent Garden to introduce him to STRIDE, the musician revealed he had already downloaded the platform after it was recommended by another artist.

For independent artists, STRIDE aims to bring together the things that are often scattered across multiple platforms - music, identity, discovery, collaboration, live performance and industry access - in one place.

Harvey said: "I've spent years discovering artists and putting them in front of the right people in the industry, and I wanted to create somewhere that could give more independent artists that same opportunity. STRIDE is about more than uploading music - it's about being discovered, building your profile, connecting with other creatives and having a genuine route into the industry.”

STRIDE is available now on the App Store — Stride: Artist Discovery App.
