Portsmouth High School Year 7 recreate the Battle of Hastings 960 years on

History came to life for Year 7 this week as pupils marked the 960th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings with their very own re-enactment.

Armed with shields and weapons they had made themselves, the girls followed the tactics used in the famous battle, led by teachers Mrs Paget-Tomlinson and Dr Goodlad.

The afternoon was a wonderfully memorable way to explore the events of 14 October 1066 and discover how history really unfolded.
