The afternoon began with a litter pick, where the girls worked together to help care for the coastline. They showed great responsibility and teamwork, understanding the importance of protecting marine habitats and keeping our beaches clean.

Following this, they took part in activities focused on coastal erosion. The girls designed and built sea defences to protect sandcastles. They were excited to see whose defences could withstand the incoming tide, and the girls demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills as they adapted their designs. Next, the class took part in a scavenger hunt, searching for natural treasures such as periwinkle shells, driftwood, crabs, and sea glass. This activity encouraged curiosity and observation, and the children were thrilled with what they discovered.

Another highlight was the stone tower challenge, where pupils worked individually to build the tallest structure they could using stones. There was plenty of friendly competition, and lots of perseverance as towers toppled and were rebuilt.

To end the day on a high note, everyone enjoyed a well-earned ice cream on the beach, reflecting on all they had learned and experienced.
