As part of the Portsmouth 100 celebrations, marking 100 years since Portsmouth was granted city status, this special event looks to the future by celebrating the incredible young talent emerging from Southsea Skatepark and the community that continues to shape it.

For nearly 50 years, Southsea Skatepark has been a place where young people have learned new skills, built confidence, formed lifelong friendships and developed talents that have gone on to national and international success. As Portsmouth celebrates a century as a city, Roll With Us highlights the next generation of riders, skaters and scooters who represent the city's future.

The day will showcase championship and Olympic-level talent through demonstrations from past and present local riders who first called Southsea Skatepark home before going on to wider success. Visitors will also have opportunities for signings, Q&A sessions and meet-and-greets with these inspirational athletes.

At its heart, this event is about inspiring Portsmouth's young people. By seeing local riders who started at the same skatepark achieve remarkable success, we hope to show that talent, determination and community support can create life-changing opportunities in wheeled sports and beyond.

Visitors will be invited to take part in a special "Roll With The Crew" session, riding, skating or scooting alongside some of Portsmouth's most accomplished riders.

The event is designed to be welcoming and inclusive for all ages and abilities. A dedicated beginners' area will provide free grab-and-go equipment hire, introductory activities and trained staff on hand to support fun, safe participation for everyone.

The celebration also reflects the spirit of the We Are Pompey 2029 UK City of Culture bid, showcasing the creativity, inclusivity, community pride and youth talent that make Portsmouth such a unique place to live, work and grow. Southsea Skatepark has long been a cultural landmark for the city, and this event demonstrates how grassroots community spaces continue to inspire future generations.

Entry will be Pay What You Feel to ensure as many local young people as possible can take part. Donations will be welcomed, with all proceeds supporting beginner participation at Southsea Skatepark through additional hire equipment, new beginner-friendly ramps and obstacles, coaching opportunities and other improvements designed to help more young people discover wheeled sports.

This event is proudly supported through Portsmouth 100 funding and forms part of the city's centenary celebrations.
