‘Small Faces Immediate Records 1967-1969’ is a deluxe boxset which features all of the group’s classic Immediate Records 7-inch vinyl singles originally released during that two year period. Repressed from the original Immediate Records master tapes and contained in fabulous hard-shell box, each box will be numbered 001 – 500 and will not be pressed again.

The eight singles include ‘Itchycoo Park’, Lazy Sunday’ and ‘Tin Soldier’ with the boxset also containing a lavishly illustrated 16-page booklet featuring rare photos, original memorabilia and full track information for each single, both A and B sides. It has all been personally curated by surviving Small Faces member Kenney Jones and will be available from his Nice Records website at nicerecords.co.uk

Jazz fans need to be heading to the Chichester Cinema at New Park on Thursday, 20 August for a big screen showing of ‘Miles Davis: Birth Of The Cool’. The film uses words from Davis’s autobiography to offer an incisive insight into his work and world, along with newly released archive material featuring Miles. The screening will be followed by a live jazz gig showcasing some of his greatest work including tracks from his legendary ‘Kind Of Blue’ album. Tickets can be booked at chichestercinema.org

My musical gem: Soul II Soul’s ‘Club Classics Vol One’ album remains one of the greatest albums of the 20th century. Jazzie B and friends will be playing the Portsmouth Guildhall on Sunday, 18 October. Get your tickets now before they sell out.

Listen to Duncan Barkes on Nation Easy Radio, Monday to Friday nights from 10pm. Nation Easy Radio can be heard on DAB digital radio, via the Nation Player app and on your smart speaker – just say “Play Nation Easy Radio.”
