She runs a vibrant creative craft business from her base in Rowlands Castle and has always had a passion for supporting older people. A firm believer in the power of creative expression Anita brings enthusiasm, energy, versatility and a huge range of creative and practical skills to her new role.

A keen potter, sewer, jewellery maker and artist Anita has a wealth of creative interests that she is excited to share with the individuals who live at Wimborne. Whether it is working with clay, creating beautiful pieces of jewellery, sewing, drawing or simply experimenting with something new, Anita believes there is no limit to what creativity can inspire.

Her role as Activities Lead is about much more than organising activities. Anita is passionate about creating opportunities for residents to express themselves, discover new interests and enjoy meaningful moments together.

‘Creativity is for everyone’ Anita says. ‘ It doesn’t matter whether you have painted, sewn or made something before. Its about having a go, enjoying the process and seeing were your imagination takes you.’

At Wimborne activities are shaped around residents interests, abilities and individual stories, with Anita keen to introduce new ideas while also making sure that familiar activities, hobbies and pastimes continue to have an important and familiar place.

General Manager Kelly Brown says; ‘Anita brings a joy to her work, loving conversation and companionship, she has been thrilled getting to know residents and hearing of their varied and interesting stories, backgrounds, passions and experiences. We are looking forward to seeing all the wonderful ideas she brings to our residents and the wider community.’

Wimborne Care Home is always keen to welcome the local community through its doors. Anyone interested in finding out about upcoming activities, community events or opportunities to get involved is encouraged to contact the home.
