Marriott House Residents Step Back in Time During Memorable Visit to Amberley Museum
Residents and staff from Marriott House and Lodge recently enjoyed a memorable day out at the World War II Home Front Interactive Exhibition at Amberley Museum, creating lasting memories through a unique blend of history, learning, and nostalgia.

The visit offered residents the opportunity to step back in time and experience life on the British Home Front during the Second World War. Throughout the day, residents and staff met with dedicated volunteers, many dressed in authentic period uniforms, who shared fascinating stories, demonstrated historical equipment, and brought wartime history to life through engaging and interactive experiences.
The group explored a wide range of attractions across the museum, including vintage buses, steam trains, interactive electrical exhibits, and historical displays. The sights, sounds, and hands-on activities sparked conversations, encouraged reminiscence, and provided meaningful opportunities for residents to share personal memories and experiences.
The outing formed part of Marriott House and Lodge's ongoing commitment to providing enriching activities that promote wellbeing, social engagement, and community connection for residents.
Skye Williams, Operations Manager at Marriott House and Lodge, said: "Everyone had such a great time, and they are all looking forward to attending again in the future. It was wonderful to see residents so engaged, sharing memories, and enjoying such a unique experience together."
Resident Alan also reflected on the day, saying: "What a lovely day. This has brought back so many wonderful memories."
The visit was filled with laughter, learning, and moments of reflection, making it a truly meaningful experience for everyone involved.
Marriott House and Lodge would like to extend its sincere thanks to the team at Amberley Museum and the dedicated volunteers whose warm welcome and enthusiasm helped make the day such a success
