Marriott House and Lodge honour staff on international nurses' day
Coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, International Nurses Day, held on Tuesday 12th May, is a day to celebrate nurses and care staff around the world.
Residents and staff at Marriott House and Lodge care home in Chichester were happy to get involved by visiting local doctors’ surgeries; Cawley Road Medical Centre, Langley House Surgery and Parklands Surgery. Admin Clara delivered goodie bags and chocolates to thank nursing staff for all of the hard work they do in our community.
Residents at the home also wanted to show their appreciation to the nursing team closer to home by creating handmade thank you cards and gifting chocolates to the nurses at Marriott House and Lodge. The thoughtful gesture was a heartfelt way for residents to thank staff for the kindness, compassion and support they provide every day.
In 2026, the theme for International Nurses’ Day is Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care. The International Council of Nurses is aiming to highlight the vital, skilled role of nursing in global health systems. International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.
