Mark is recognised for lifetime of service to civil engineering
Mark Wells, founder and chairman of Fareham-based Blanchard Wells, has received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (Southern) in recognition of more than 35 years of service to construction.

Mark received the accolade during a ceremony in London, marking his vision, determination, and deep commitment to people in shaping the company into one of the south’s most respected civil engineering and groundworks operators.
Alongside his business achievements, it was Mark who was the originator and personally brought together 14 other top civil engineering employers to work with Fareham College and form the award-winning state-of-the-art Civil Engineering Training Centre (CETC) facility in Lee on Solent. CETC tackles industry skills shortages while providing opportunities for young people and career changers to succeed in civil engineering.

Kevin Valentine, CECA Southern Chair, congratulated Mark on his success, commenting: “Mark goes beyond expectations to foster a culture of equality, opportunity and inclusion within the industry. He is a giant of our industry.”
The CECA Southern Awards are presented annually in recognition of exceptional performance.
