Lace up your trainers and run for your local hospital
Portsmouth Hospitals Charity is calling on runners to lace up their trainers and take on one of the UK's most iconic road races, this year's Great South Run.

The charity, which supports patients, families and staff across Portsmouth and the surrounding area, is urging members of the community to secure one of its places before they are gone.
Taking place on Sunday 18 October 2026, the 10-mile Great South Run attracts thousands of participants from across the country and is renowned for its unique seafront route through Portsmouth's historic waterfront.
Raising vital funds
By joining the hospital charity's team, runners will not only experience the excitement of race day but also raise vital funds to help enhance care for local patients. Money raised supports projects that go beyond NHS funding, helping to provide specialist equipment, improved facilities, wellbeing initiatives and extra support services for patients and their loved ones.
Participants who secure a charity place will receive fundraising support, encouragement from the charity team and the knowledge that every mile they run is helping local people when they need it most.
Something special
The charity hopes local residents, hospital supporters, running groups and businesses will seize the opportunity to be part of something special while raising funds that will have a lasting impact on healthcare across the region.
Anyone interested in securing one of the remaining places is encouraged to act quickly as demand is expected to be high.
