Residents and staff at Cosham Court Nursing Home were delighted to welcome another special experience for one of their resident's Joan Geary-105 years old, thanks to the incredible efforts of Pompey in the Community.
Joan was given a heartwarming surprise when she was invited to attend the recent football match as a mascot. During the day, she had the wonderful opportunity to meet the players, who made her feel truly special. As part of the surprise, Joan was presented with a T-shirt, beautiful bouquet of flowers and a football signed by all the players — a moment she will treasure forever.Although the result on the pitch may not have gone their way, the impact the team and Pompey in the Community had on Joan and the residents of Cosham Court was truly priceless.
Charisma Williams, Home Manager at Cosham Court Nursing Home, expressed her gratitude, saying she was incredibly pleased and thankful to Pompey in the Community, and to CEO Clare Martin, for making such a meaningful experience possible once again for Joan.
This special day highlights the power of community spirit and the positive difference it can make in people’s lives.
