Jetts Gym Portsmouth Community Takes on Albania Challenge to Support Veterans
What started as a gym has become one of Portsmouth's strongest communities.
Over the years, Jetts Gym Portsmouth has brought together people from all walks of life, creating a community that extends far beyond fitness. Members train together, encourage one another and, time and time again, come together to support causes that make a real difference.
One thing that sets the Jetts community apart is that its team is always willing to lead from the front. Co-Owners Joel Kirby and Mark Legg have consistently supported and taken part in charity initiatives alongside members, helping to create a culture where giving back is just as important as achieving personal goals.

This September, that community spirit will once again be put to the test; yet again.
On September 5 and 6, 2026, a team made up of Jetts Gym Portsmouth members and local business leaders will travel to Albania to take on an extraordinary challenge with Ultra 4 Charity. Together, they will tackle 100 kilometres through the Albanian mountains, facing steep climbs, rugged terrain and demanding conditions, all in aid of four incredible veteran charities.
Among those taking part are Mark Legg, Simon Martin, Samuel Bell, Chris McCance, Trevor Banks, Nick Jarvis, Mike Kingsley, Dan, Dave and Jacob Joyce (The Joyce Brothers) and Ross Ashton. Each participant is united by one goal: raising as much money as possible to support individuals who have done so much for our country and continue to need our support.
This challenge is about far more than running through the mountains. It's about bringing people together for a common purpose and showing what can be achieved when a community supports one another; all whilst raising vital funds for four brilliant Veteran charities.
The Jetts Gym Portsmouth community has built a reputation for stepping up when it matters most. From charity fitness events to major fundraising campaigns, members and the Jetts team have repeatedly demonstrated that the gym is more than a place to work out; it's a place where lasting friendships are formed, challenges are embraced and people rally around those in need.
Now, they're asking the wider Portsmouth community to get behind them once again.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help provide vital support to four veteran charities, ensuring they can continue their incredible work for those who have served our country.
Together, this community has already achieved incredible things. This September, they'll do it again.
As the team prepares for this incredible challenge, they would be grateful for any support the community can offer. Whether it's making a donation, sharing their fundraising page, following their journey or simply helping spread the word, every act of support helps raise awareness for an important cause.
The challenge is being undertaken with Ultra 4 Charity, an organisation co-founded by Foxy (Jason Fox), Woody (Brian Wood MC), and Frenchy (Richard French), whose own experiences of physical and mental wounds sustained through their service inspired them to create a charity dedicated to making a difference. Through demanding endurance challenges like this one, Ultra 4 Charity raises vital funds and awareness for charities supporting veterans across the UK.
By sharing the team's journey and helping shine a light on the incredible work of Ultra 4 Charity and the veteran charities they support, you can play a part in making a lasting difference.
If you'd like to support the challenge, please donate if you're able, share the campaign with friends, family and colleagues, and help give this incredible cause the recognition it deserves. Together, we can ensure those who have given so much for our country receive the support they need.
