I Can’t Sleep — A Story Kids Will Ask For Again and Again

I’m from Gosport, and I wrote I Can’t Sleep! over two years ago. The story was inspired by my son, who has autism and, like many children, struggles with sleep. Each page of the book is based on real-life experiences from our sleepless nights — something I know so many parents can relate to. At the time, I had a dream of turning my story into a real children’s book, but like many first-time authors, I couldn’t afford a traditional illustrator.

For a long time, the story simply sat waiting. I never gave up on it, but I honestly didn’t know how I would ever bring the characters and scenes in my imagination to life.

Then everything changed when I came up with the idea of using AI to create my illustrations. I was amazed at how accurately it followed my instructions — right down to the smallest details I had imagined while writing the story. For the first time, I could finally see my book coming to life exactly the way I had dreamed it.

Once the illustrations were complete, I contacted Britannia Publishing House to help me professionally format and edit the book. They were absolutely amazing throughout the whole process, supportive from start to finish.

And now, just four weeks later, here we are — I Can’t Sleep! is officially going worldwide.

Seeing something that started as an idea in Gosport become a real published children’s book has been such an emotional and exciting journey. I honestly can’t wait to share it with everyone and hopefully bring comfort, imagination, and smiles to families everywhere.
