Hayling Care Home rewards all Carers in Carers Week!

Wimborne Care Home on Hayling has a reputation for offering a warm welcome to all in the local community - but in honour of Carers Week it was the chance for a cold treat!

Residents, families, staff and visiting carers to Wimborne enjoyed a delicious treat when the ice cream van rolled into the homes grounds as part of the celebrations marking Carers Week.

The special event brought everyone together to enjoy a traditional ice cream and recognise the invaluable contribution made by carers in our local community. Laughter, conversation and sweet slurping spoonfuls filled the lovely home,residents reminisced and carers took a well earned moment to relax and enjoy a sweet treat.

Carers week, held annually across the UK shines a spotlight on millions of unpaid carers who support loved ones every day.

General Manager, Stephen Stace said; ‘carers do an incredible job, often putting the needs of others before their own. We wanted to take this opportunity to say Thank you and show our appreciation in a simple yet meaningful way. The ice cream van was a huge hit with everyone and created a lovely atmosphere across Wimborne.’

The entire team at Wimborne remain committed to supporting carers and families throughout the year and was delighted to celebrate Carers Week by bring the community together for an afternoon of smiles and icecream.
