Hayling care home regional manager director changes his suit for chefs whites in cook off competition
Time to get cooking!
Duncan Edwards of Barchester’s South West Division, which runs Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island, is taking part in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2026.

Mr Edwards and other managing directors from Barchester’s five divisions will compete against members of the executive team to raise funds for the foundation, which supports people living with disabilities and other vulnerable individuals.
He said: "I am so proud to support this event with my fellow MDs, it is great to have the shared purpose of supporting the Barchester Foundation which does such wonderful work.
"I am excited and ready to stir up some fun (and maybe a little chaos) in the kitchen – all for a great cause."
In 2025, the foundation achieved a donation milestone of £424,000, helping 262 small groups and charities, plus 123 individuals.
The MDs have been practising for the event. They have recently announced their dishes which include chicken liver pate, lobster bisque, chowder, fish cakes, pistachio tiramisu, blueberry scones and lemon curd.
Stephen Stace, general manager of Wimborne, said: "We are all so proud of Duncan for taking part in this challenge, we know he will give it his absolute best shot."
