Hayling care home offers weekend dementia awareness talk
Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island is known for working closely with their community and always offering a warm welcome. Here is another such opportunity.
A recent, well attended Dementia talk was given fantastic feedback and the only remark on how it could improve was to make it available on a weekend.
So, on Saturday 25th April at 2.30pm Wimborne has arranged for a ‘Dementia Awareness and Understanding talk’. There are limited seats, the talk is suitable for and open to all, early reservation is recommended.
The speaker is Nikki Shepherd, an ex NHS Specialist Dementia Coach and Educator. Known for her warm, accessible and positive approach this is a talk that will give anyone touched by dementia (as family, friend, acquaintance) and idea of ‘just what is going on and what can I do’? ‘Better still what should I be aware of?’
Dementia is a huge topic so Nikki delivers a complex and sensitive subject with simple steps and lots of experience. You will leave with more than you came with, for certain. Don’t miss this really profoundly helpful chance to learn some useful tips and techniques. There will be a chance to ask questions and light refreshments will be served too.
Wimborne is hosting an Open Day on the 25th so if whilst at the talk you would like to take a look at Wimborne, it would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
