Hayling Care home offers minibus adventures for residents

Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island are delighted to offer their residents a means of living life to the full, having adventures and trips out. Their minibus is one of the ways this is achieved.

From Hayling there are a wealth of opportunities and trips out, these have included going to the Solent for boat rides, up to Portsdown Hill for refreshments, to the coast at Southsea for Hovercraft viewing, to the retail offerings just about anywhere (M&S is a favourite and Hedge End offers a good time!). From various pubs to multiple garden centres, and then on Hayling there are the Alpacas and the Donkey Sanctuary.

The pubs on Hayling also offer ‘rich pickings’; the views at the Square Rigger and Ferry Boat are wonderful, as is the view from the outside area at the Inn on the Beach (stairs are required for indoors). The Olive Leaf is a popular choice as is the Yew Tree. As for coffee stops – our residents know and love Mad Hatters, the Salt Shack. Lucy’s, new venue Vaughans and especially Northney Farm. They go from wool shops to bargain shops and with a smile and good company every trip is a real means of connection, enjoyment, shared pleasure and fun.

The activities team Zoe and Kerry are always keen to ensure fun is had, Wimborne is hugely grateful for the volunteers who also make these trips possible and the members of the Community they connect with who give such a warm and inclusive welcome when meeting up.
