Volunteers play a vital role in enriching life at Wimborne; supporting activities, spending one to one time with residents, sharing skills and hobbies and helping to create a warm and vibrant community. Their generosity makes a meaningful difference to residents’ wellbeing, helping to reduce loneliness, encourage social connection and bring fresh experiences to daily life.

Stephen Stace, Peri General Manager for Wimborne Care Home said; ‘Our volunteers are truly invaluable. They give their time so generously and bring energy, compassion and companionship to our residents. Whether they are helping with activities, chatting over a cuppa or simply offering a listening ear they help Wimborne feel even more like home. We are incredibly grateful for everything that they do.’

Residents have enjoyed a wide range of volunteer supported activities over the past year, from musical performances and gardening projects to reminiscence sessions, pet visits and community events. The relationships formed between residents and volunteers often become treasured friendships, benefitting everyone involved.
