Hayling care home announces Kelly Brown as new general manager
Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island are delighted to announce the arrival of Kelly Brown their new general manager.

Kelly, found the care sector as a career path in 2020, after being a chef in her earlier years. She had a young family and was looking to find a family friendly role where she could connect, support and care. She started in domiciliary care and realised that supporting older adults was simply her calling. She describes working with older, frail, vulnerable adults as ‘where I find completeness’.
After 8 years in domiciliary care Kelly has charged through the ranks and then moved into the home care sector where again she was seen and appreciated for her talent, skill and insight, soon promoting to general manager. Her most recent role before joining Wimborne was as a GM of a smaller independent home – which she took from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’ with the Care Quality Commission ranking and assessments. This is her proudest achievement to date.

Kelly joined Wimborne having been attracted by the warmth of the welcome, the homely feel, the exceptional backup and support from Barchester and to be able to help support, guide and nurture the staff. If you pop in you are most likely to find her out of her office with residents and staff, she has a hands on approach and is equally very happy to help others, particularly families, discover what makes Wimborne so very special.
Kelly is still very much a farmers daughter. She has a menagerie – with Dexter her working Cocker Spaniel, six chickens, a cat and a tortoise! Dexter will be joining the Wimborne team in time; he is a trained dementia therapy dog. In her spare time Kelly loves all types of gardening, good food and walking in the countryside. Her husband is chief chef now with their three daughters having flown the nest.
Kelly has said ‘Wimborne already feels like home’ and she and her team are keen to make sure it stays that way for everyone.
