Havant community groups join forces to inspire new volunteers
Havant locals looking to give back to their community, meet new people, or gain valuable volunteering experience are invited to attend a special event in May.

On Wednesday May 20, charity Community First will bring together 26 local organisations for the Havant Volunteer Fair at The Pallant Centre.
From 11am to 2pm, visitors can drop in to chat with local groups and find a role that suits their interests, whether it’s working with young people, running a railway, fundraising for charity, beach cleaning, digital marketing, operating a home library or leading social clubs.

Attending organisations include Hayling Light Railway, Citizens Advice Havant, Cats Protection, Barnardo’s, Havant Youth Sail Training Scheme, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Blue Lamp Trust and Veterans Outreach support.
Tim Houghton, Chief Executive of Community First, said: “Volunteering can be life‑enhancing in so many ways. It’s a chance to meet new people, feel part of your community and do something genuinely rewarding. You don’t need special skills or lots of spare time – just an interest in helping. We’re really excited to welcome people to the fair and help them find a role that suits them.”
No booking is needed – just turn up on the day.
Free refreshments will be available. Paid parking is available next to the Church Hall and at the rear of The Bear Hotel, and the venue is just a five-minute walk from Havant railway station.
