Hampshire site managers recognised as best in country
Six site managers at Hampshire’s Barratt David Wilson Homes Southampton division have each won a top national award for the quality of homes they are building in the region.

Sam Hodgson and Paddy Rutter, Site Managers at Forest Walk in Whiteley and Pebble Walk on Hayling Island respectively, join colleagues Gary French, Phil Cripps, Paul Wall and Matt Annalls as they are presented with a Pride in the Job award from the National House Building Council (NHBC).
Known as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, the Barratt workers have received the prestigious accolades for their work at new housing developments across Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex.

The awards recognise the very best site managers across the country, with thousands of inspections having taken place to determine the winners. Judging is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
The competition is also at the heart of raising standards in housebuilding, with the awards showcasing the role site managers play in ensuring much needed new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards.
With site managers passing on their skills to their teams and mentoring assistant site managers, the awards help drive up quality standards across the industry in total, Barratt Redrow site managers have won 122 Pride in the Job awards. This is the 22nd year in a row that the company has scooped more awards than any other housebuilder, highlighting its commitment to quality across each of its developments.
Paddy Rutter, site manager at Pebble Walk on Hayling Island said: “I’m so pleased to have been recognised for another year with a Pride in the Job award as it demonstrates our long-term commitment to looking after our customers and building high quality homes.”
Sam Hodgson, fellow award winner and Site Manager at Forest Walk in Whiteley, added: “These awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager, recognising the hard work from the entire team, including suppliers and contractors. Anyone who buys a home from a site with a Pride in the Job award winner knows their home has been built to the highest standard.”
Earlier this year Barratt Redrow also achieved a 5-star rating from its customers in the HBF Customer Satisfaction Survey, which recognises both build quality and excellence in customer care. This is the 17th year in a row that Barratt Redrow customers have rated it a 5-star housebuilder, underlining its long-term commitment to making customers happy.
