Hampshire Flag Company sponsors second TEDxGosport event
The second edition of TEDxGosport took place on Saturday, September 5 at GoSport Activity Centre, and Hampshire Flag Company (HFC) was one of 13 sponsors supporting the community-led night.

TEDx is a grassroots initiative created by the internationally renowned TED Talks, bringing the brand’s same spirit of engaging, passionate talks to local communities. More than 4,000 TEDx events are held across the world each year, and since 2025, Gosport has been one of them. At each event, speakers volunteer to present publicly on a topic they care about or consider themselves an expert in.
At TEDxGosport 2026, the speaker line-up was incredibly varied, including a teacher, author, entrepreneur, photographer, psychotherapist and a business transformation leader.
As part of the company’s sponsorship, HFC created all branded materials for the event, working with the organisers to bring the 2026 theme – connection – to life. The theme also drove a total rebrand for the event, led by local designer Charlotte M Simonsen, spanning everything from pre-event communications to the attendee experience and HFC’s contributions.
Working from scratch, the HFC team produced bunting, feather flags, selfie frames, foamex standees and a large floor sign. They also designed a large TEDx hanging sign for the stage, in front of which the event’s 13 speakers presented.
Annelies James, Curator of TEDxGosport was incredibly thankful for HFC’s support and full of praise for their work, saying: “HFC’s ability to turn our new brand into decorative stage assets, bunting, flags and interactive selfie boards was just fantastic. Our community event aims to be on par with other TEDx global events and we really felt the professional staging and flags gave us an edge in our look and feel. The team at HFC are also wonderful communicators who understood the garbled ideas we presented and translated them into design magnificence.”
This is exactly the sort of collaboration HFC enjoys. The team proudly work with a growing number of non-profit organisations and community events, supporting their core missions with discounted rates or, in some cases, complimentary services.
Wherever possible, HFC uses materials made entirely from recycled waste, helping events like TEDxGosport limit waste and reduce its reliance on traditional single-use options.
Speaking of the event, Laura Kay, Marketing Coordinator at HFC said: “TEDxGosport 2026 was a fantastic display of everything we love about south coast businesses – we heard from a range of people creating their own success, not just because they are good at something, but because they really love it. We’re proud to have sponsored the second edition and to have been selected as the print supplier.”
TEDxGosport is a non-profit event run solely by volunteers, so support from companies like HFC is vital to both its operations and to keeping future editions alive.
