Get the tissues ready… Chelle’s incredible six-stone journey to Woman of the Year 💕✨
From a frightening hospital admission to finding her confidence, her fitness and a belief in herself — Chelle’s Slimming World journey is about so much more than losing weight.

There are some weight-loss stories that stay with you, and Chelle’s is certainly one of them.
After losing more than six stone, reaching her target and transforming the way she feels about her health and herself, Chelle has now been crowned Woman of the Year in the group she attends and it’s an accolade that couldn’t be more deserved.

But Chelle’s journey didn’t begin with a desire to change how she looked. It began with something much more important: a desire to change how she felt and to give herself the best possible chance of being there for the people she loves.
A frightening wake-up call
Chelle’s turning point came when she was admitted to hospital with atrial fibrillation (AF).
It took seven hours in A&E to regulate her heartbeat, and seeing the fear on the faces of her husband and family made her realise that something had to change.

“I didn’t want to put them through that again,” she says.
Chelle joined Slimming World on a 12-week referral a decision she describes as “one of the best decisions I have ever made.”
Her motivation wasn’t about fitting into a certain size or changing her appearance. It was about her health, her future and the people she loves.
And what followed has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Six stone lighter and a whole new outlook
Through Slimming World’s Food Optimising approach, Chelle discovered that losing weight didn’t mean giving up the foods she loved.
“I love that I can enjoy food, try different recipes and still stay on track. It never feels like I’m missing out.”
And with favourites such as Coca-Cola Chicken firmly on the menu, Chelle has proved that a healthy lifestyle can still be full of delicious food and plenty of choice.
But while losing more than six stone is an incredible physical achievement, Chelle says her biggest challenge was something much deeper.
Learning not to give up on herself.
There were difficult weeks. Times when motivation was nowhere to be found. Times when it would have been easy to stop going to group.
Instead, Chelle kept turning up.
She learned that one difficult week didn’t erase everything she had achieved. She learned to draw a line under it, pick herself up and carry on.
And, perhaps most importantly, she learned that she was worth the effort.
From sitting on the sidelines to dancing in the spotlight
Today, Chelle’s life looks very different.
She feels fitter, healthier and more confident, and she has discovered a love of being active that she never imagined possible.
She has joined a gym, taken part in classes and even started Clubbercise something that would once have felt completely out of reach.
And there’s a beautiful twist to Chelle’s story: she hasn’t kept that newfound confidence to herself.
Other members have joined her at classes and discovered the joy of being active too.
For Chelle, one of the biggest changes isn’t simply what she can do physically it’s the feeling that her weight no longer holds her back.
A transformation measured in much more than pounds and stones
Perhaps the most powerful part of Chelle’s story is the impact her weight loss has had on her health.
That frightening hospital admission was the catalyst for change, and since losing more than six stone, Chelle says the difference in her health and fitness has been huge.
One milestone means more than most: she no longer needs to take heart medication.
For someone who remembers how frightening her hospital admission was for both herself and her family, being able to say that she is now healthier and taking better care of herself is worth far more than any number on the scales.
“This wasn’t about looking different,” Chelle says. “It was about feeling different, improving my health and giving myself the best possible chance of being there for the people I love.”
And that is exactly what makes her story so special.
Woman of the Year and only the beginning
Chelle once thought that reaching target would be the end of her journey.
Now she realises it’s actually the beginning of a new chapter.
She wants to maintain what she has achieved, continue looking after herself and inspire others to believe that change really is possible.
Her Slimming World journey has given her friendship, support and accountability, as well as a group of people who celebrate her successes and pick her up when life gets difficult.
And now, as Woman of the Year, Chelle has another reason to celebrate.
Her advice to anyone who might be struggling is beautifully simple and perhaps the most important message of her entire journey:
“Never give up on yourself. Even when you don’t believe you are worth the effort, you are.”
Chelle, your six-stone loss is incredible. Your determination is inspiring. Your transformation is amazing.
But perhaps the greatest achievement of all is that you’ve learned to believe in yourself. Chelle always credits her consultant Sam Jones with that ability to give you the belief in yourself and that anything is truly possible or as she will quote nothing is impossible all you need is an apostrophe and l’m possible.
