From new mum to woman of the year: Claire's incredible journey with Slimming World
Mother-of-two loses 3st 9lb, achieves Diamond Target and continues her journey through pregnancy - with the support of her local Slimming World group
There are weight-loss stories, and then there are stories that show just how much can change when the right support is around you.
For Claire, what began as a return to Slimming World three months after becoming a mum has become an incredible journey of confidence, motherhood, resilience and lasting change.
Claire joined Lisa's Saturday Morning Cosham group in May 2024, weighing in at a time when she knew she needed to do things differently. Today, she is 3st 9lb lighter, sitting beautifully in target, a Diamond Target member, Superstar Social Team member - and Woman of the Year 2026!
Claire first joined Slimming World 13 years ago, experiencing the highs of becoming a target member but also discovering that continuing her journey alone simply didn't work.
This time, she found that the support of group made all the difference.
“My journey is completely different to my previous journey. I weigh every week because our group is so supportive, friendly and I’m surrounded with like-minded people. No judgement and plenty of ideas are shared weekly.”
A journey through pregnancy
Claire's story took another special turn when she became pregnant with her second baby. Claire continued coming to group throughout her pregnancy, supported by the community around her, and achieved her Diamond Target Award along the way.
Slimming World’s ongoing collaboration with the Royal College of Midwives reflects the importance of supporting women around pregnancy and motherhood - and Claire’s experience is a wonderful example of how that support can continue through such a significant life stage.
Claire went on to welcome her second baby girl, a gorgeous 8lb bundle of joy, before returning to group - still sitting beautifully in target!
More than a number
Claire's transformation isn't just visible in her photographs. She says "she feels more confident in herself and has developed habits that fit around being a full-time working mum".
She keeps herself accountable by photographing her meals, using the Slimming World app and keeping a food diary. Now she is giving that support back.
As one of Lisa's Superstar Social Team members, Claire encourages and supports others in group - helping create the very community that made such a difference to her own journey.
Claire's favourite meal? A good fakeaway! with Pizza wraps a firm favourite!
Woman of the Year 2026!
Lisa quotes: It was no surprise that Claire was voted our Woman of the Year 2026. It was well and truly deserved! From a new mum returning to group, to a mum of two, Diamond Target member and inspiration to others, Claire has shown that weight loss doesn't have to mean putting real life on hold.
Claire’s story is exactly what our Cosham Saturday morning group is all about - real people, real lives and real support.
