44-year-old Paul Fullick is a driver for Team BRIT, the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers and competed in his third GT3 race weekend of the year on the 27th and 28th June.

Paul and team mate Jamie Falvey raced in round 3 of the GT Cup at Donington, with hopes of building on their impressive start to the 2026 season, which had already seen them set racing records in their debut outing.

The heat of the weekend made things challenging right from the start, with soaring temperatures during testing on Thursday, which meant that making the right tyre management and car setup decisions was absolutely crucial.

Saturday couldn’t have started much better, with Jamie putting their BMW M4 GT3 on pole in qualifying, before converting it into a victory in the sprint race.

In the pit stop race, a technical gremlin caused the car to cut out, dropping them to the back of the field. Paul managed to re-start the car and fought his way back through the pack before handing over to Jamie, who brought the car home in P3.

Sunday began with another pole position in qualifying. Despite an early safety car pausing the race, Jamie built a healthy lead in the pit stop race before handing over to Paul, who drove brilliantly and narrowly missed out on victory. Paul then rounded off the weekend with another P2 finish in the final sprint race.

This success builds on Jamie and Paul’s incredible season opener, in which they were the first ever disabled pairing to win a GT3 race outright, the first ever amateur pairing to win a GT3 race outright and the first pairing to ever win a GT3 race on what was the debut GT3 race for both.

Since its formation in 2015, Team BRIT has been dedicated to revolutionising disability motorsport, breaking down barriers and proving that nothing is impossible. Over the past decade, the team has progressed from entry-level racing to offering a variety of levels of racing for drivers at all levels of experience, right up to GT3.

Paul is a lower leg amputee following a motorbike crash. He has been with the team since 2022, and has progressed rapidly from driving a BMW 118i, to competing in a McLaren 570S GT4 and a BMW GT3 this year.

Jamie served in the Royal Marines commandos to the rank of lance corporal. He was medically discharged after sustaining hearing damage, resulting in permanent tinnitus and severe hearing loss in one ear, which curtailed his career in the military.

Paul said: “Round 3 at Donington saw us testing and racing in some of the most extreme temperatures we've experienced. Thursday's test session was held in 35°C air temperatures, with track temperatures climbing into the high 40s.

“The heat gave us plenty to think about. The tyres were struggling, the engine was feeling the effects, and after pulling on layers of Nomex fireproof underwear, race suit, balaclava and helmet, both of us drivers were struggling too! Hydration became even more critical than usual for the entire team.

“Saturday's racing produced a mixed bag of emotions. We came away with a P1 in the first race, but it was Race 2 that really tested us. As the lights went out, the car cut out at Turn 1. The entire field streamed past, and by the time we had power-cycled the car and got it restarted, we were a lap down.

“The safety car gave us the opportunity to catch back up to the pack, but we were still rooted to the back of the grid, around 15 seconds behind the last car. At that point, everyone in the team dug deep. We fought our way back through the field, and when Jamie took over during the pit stop, he continued the charge. Somehow, we recovered all the way to P3, turning what looked like a disaster into another podium finish and one of the best comeback drives we've had.

“On Sunday the temperatures had finally dropped to something much more manageable, the car ran faultlessly, and both races went smoothly. We rounded off the weekend with another two podiums, bringing it home in P2.”

Paul and Jamie race again at Silverstone on the 1st and 2nd August.
