Fareham Musician Backs Ed Sheeran in Macklemore Row
A Fareham content creator and musician has thrown his support behind Ed Sheeran following the growing row surrounding rapper Macklemore and Sheeran’s Loop tour.

Macklemore was removed from the remaining US dates after making pro-Palestine comments on stage, with the other support acts subsequently withdrawing from the tour in solidarity. Sheeran has said the decision to remove Macklemore was made by the promoter and venue owners, rather than by him.
W*A*R*D, who regularly discusses political issues and different sides of the political spectrum on his own social media, insists he keeps those debates completely separate from his music.

When it comes to Macklemore becoming a major voice in the debate, W*A*R*D added:
“We’re not talking about Bob Marley here. We’re talking about Macklemore. His biggest song was Thrift Shop — basically a novelty record. I don’t remember the Macarena or the Birdie Song becoming a political movement.
W*A*R*D, whose own musical career includes a collaboration with Right Said Fred on Wunderbar, which reached number one in summer 2025, says music should remain somewhere people with completely different views can still stand next to each other, sing the same songs and enjoy the same moment.
