The images show the Royal Navy Parachute Display Team, known as The Raiders, making their descent towards HMS Queen Elizabeth alongside HMNB Portsmouth yesterday morning (May 5).

The jump took place while the Queen Elizabeth-class carrier was alongside the Princess Royal Jetty. A trio of parachutists jumped from a light aircraft onto the warship.

Smoke from flares could be seen as they descended.

HMS Queen Elizabeth has been in Portsmouth since April 27, returning from the Rosyth dry dock in Scotland following an extensive period of maintenance. Her sister ship, HMS Prince of Wales, is currently in the vicinity of Scotland.
