Discovery Nursery School Sold in Portsmouth

Discovery Nursery School, a well-established independently owned children’s day nursery in Portsmouth, has been sold to a new entrant to the childcare sector, in a deal facilitated by Redwoods Dowling Kerr.

The nursery in Derby Road, North End, is registered for 40 children per session and operates from a well-presented, purpose-built setting in a highly desirable and accessible location. The nursery has developed a strong local reputation and is widely regarded as a trusted provider of high-quality early years education and childcare within the community.

The sale was successfully negotiated and completed by Sarah Ellison, Deputy Manager at Redwoods Dowling Kerr.

Sarah commented, “This was a fantastic opportunity to support the sale of a well-established nursery with a strong local reputation. It attracted significant interest, and I am delighted to have helped achieve a successful outcome for both parties. I wish the buyer every success as they take the business forward.”

She said the setting offers a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment, with thoughtfully designed internal learning spaces that support all areas of early childhood development. Externally, the nursery benefits from its own dedicated entrance and on-site parking, providing ease of access for parents and carers. The property forms part of a characterful church setting, combining practicality with an attractive and established environment.

The location is well connected, with strong transport links and a range of local amenities nearby, making it a convenient choice for families across the wider Hampshire area.
