Denmead care home is 'all shook up' with Elvis disco

Denmead Grange residents have been ‘All Shook Up’, whilst they rolled back the years with an Elvis themed disco on Memory Lane.

Led by their happy and effervescent Activities Lead Vicky Burgess, residents need never have a quiet day unless they wish to and the recent Elvis themed disco was just another fantastic way to have shared laughter, smiles and happiness.

What an afternoon it was; ‘It’s now or never’, there was much singing, some impressive dance moves, and they filled the room with laughter and joy. From “Hound Dog” to “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” the smiles said everything. It was such a beautiful reminder that music truly reaches the heart, and Elvis still knows how to light up a room.

No one was ‘Returned to Sender’, or lived with a’ Suspicious mind’, but as ever good things were ‘Always on my mind’ and ‘The wonder of you’ abounds! One wonders if you’ll ‘(Let me be) Your Teddy Bear?’ Or ‘Love me Tender?’

General Manager Abbie Johnston said ‘It was a fabulous afternoon. The music was tremendous and our residents very evidently had a truly wonderful time.’

Denmead Grange care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Denmead Grange provides residential and dementia care for 60 residents from respite care to long term stays.
