Denmead Care Home Celebrates International Nurses Day
Care home residents have shown their appreciation for nurses
Denmead Grange Care home residents and staff created a huge goodie filled hamper for their much appreciated District Nurse Team.
It was presented by Carers Seb and Jane to Julie and Emily on behalf of their team on International Nurses Day. Denmead Care Home works very closely with their local NHS teams and the nurses are pivotal for the continuity of medical care for residents. Coinciding with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, International Nurses Day, held on Tuesday 12th May, is a day to celebrate nurses and care staff around the world.
In 2026, the theme for International Nurses’ Day is Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care. The International Council of Nurses is aiming to highlight the vital, skilled role of nursing in global health systems. International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.
Abbie Johnston, general manager at the home, said: “At Denmead Grange, we appreciate the nurses who support us, their compassion and commitment has shone through even more over the past year. They continue to work tirelessly, and I’m proud of the professionalism and duty of care they uphold, it’s nice to take this time to show our appreciation in return. ”
