Citrus Facilities Management announces solo sponsorship of Pride of Portsmouth lion
Citrus Facilities Management has grown from a small security company to a full-service facilities management provider, serving businesses across the south of England. Still family-run today, the team is keen to stay closely connected to the city where it all started: Portsmouth.
As Portsmouth embarks on a series of celebrations to mark 100 years of city status, Citrus Facilities Management has announced its sponsorship of ‘Solent Sunburst’ – one of the 45 lion sculptures on the Pride of Portsmouth trail.
‘Solent Sunburst’ was designed by Lynne Hollingsworth to represent the natural light flowing along Portsmouth’s coastline, a sight that draws countless residents and visitors outside every evening. The sculpture uses bold sun motifs and bright, warm colours to create a glowing effect, all set in a stained-glass style that evokes the energy of a sunrise over the water. It is a bright and uplifting addition to the Pride of Portsmouth collection, offering a sense of connection to the city’s maritime character.
Citrus staff engage with local residents on a daily basis, whether it's through their commercial cleaning, IT support desks, maintenance or waste management services. They’re a recognisable brand to many, and the team hopes that their addition to the trail map will see both existing customers and new passers-by stop and take in the meaning behind the lion.
Speaking of the sponsorship Liam Hibberd of Citrus Facilities Management, said:
"We’re incredibly proud to stand alongside 44 other local businesses as a champion of Portsmouth’s great history – both over the past 100 years as a city and before that. The diverse Portsmouth community has been integral to our business growth. It’s a real honour not only to give something back to the city, but to celebrate its longevity as we also celebrate ours.”
‘Solent Sunburst’ can be found outside St. Mary’s Church in Fratton until Sunday 13 September.
In addition to their lion sponsorship, Citrus Facilities Management supported the delivery of 17,000 limited-edition 24-page colouring books to primary schools across the city. Created by Shaping Portsmouth, Seekers Create and Spark Community Space, the books feature a selection of designs that honour Portsmouth’s people, places and passion, helping children engage more closely with what makes the city’s 100th birthday so special.
Through these two citywide initiatives, Citrus Facilities Management reinforces its long-term commitment to Portsmouth’s businesses and people. For more information, visit: https://citrus-services.co.uk/
