The vehicle, Southdown 409 DCD, toured key locations including Portsmouth city centre and Clarence Pier, where cast members engaged with the public, distributed leaflets, and brought the spirit of the show directly to the community. The visit to Clarence Pier saw the group embracing the seaside atmosphere, interacting with visitors and adding to the celebratory feel across the city.

Sister Act is a comedy musical that follows Deloris Van Cartier, a lounge singer placed in witness protection in a convent after witnessing a crime. Disguised as a nun, she transforms the convent’s struggling choir with her soulful influence, attracting widespread attention that ultimately puts her at risk.

Marc Reddy, Managing Director of Stagecoach South, said: "We’re pleased to support local arts and community initiatives, especially during such a significant year for Portsmouth. The cast created a real buzz throughout the day, and we were proud to provide such a unique vehicle for the occasion."

The production’s director said: "It was fantastic to bring Sister Act out into the heart of Portsmouth and share it with the community in such a fun and visible way. Performing in costume across the city, and on such a distinctive bus, really captured the energy of the show. We’re incredibly grateful to Stagecoach for helping make it happen."

The production runs from Wednesday 6 May to Saturday 9 May at Theatre Royal, with tickets available via https://www.newtheatreroyal.com/whats-on/sister-act/.
