Bikers give care home a Drive By!

Wimborne Care Home is an especially well-regarded care home on Hayling Island. Last Saturday on a beautiful warm and sunny morning they invited their community to join them with a wonderful opportunity to view some of the bikes from ‘Hayling Bike Night’.

The organisers, most particularly Colin Rolfe, very kindly arranged for a cavalcade of motorbikes to visit Wimborne. Residents had a chance to view these magnificent machines, to chat to the owners, share Wimborne’s famous hospitality, reminisce about past motor bike adventures and to finally enjoy a fantastic ride by.

Wimborne chefs baked cookies and almond cake, cold drinks or tea and coffee were on offer and a great time was had by all. Residents had a fabulous time and there was even a ‘biker lass’ moment when Resident Ambassador Doreen tried on Colin’s fabulously decorated leather bikers jerkin.

General Manager, Stephen Stace said; ‘We deeply appreciate the bike owners taking the time to visit us and for our residents to have the opportunity to enjoy the bikes. The commitment of all was very greatly appreciated!’
