Bere Grove care home in Horndean celebrates VE day anniversary with barbecue and street party
Residents at Bere Grove Care Home marked the anniversary of VE Day in style with a joyful celebration filled with music, laughter, and community spirit.

Taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine, residents, families, and staff gathered outdoors to enjoy a delicious barbecue as the home came together to honour this important moment in history. The afternoon was made even more special with live entertainment from vocalist Charlotte Haines, whose beautiful voice brought the sounds of the 1940s to life with a selection of much-loved classics.
Residents proudly waved Union flags and sang along to the nostalgic tunes, creating a wonderful atmosphere of celebration and remembrance. The festivities continued with a special celebration cake shared by residents, relatives, and team members alike.

General manager Graham Allen said: “It was such a lovely day for everyone. Seeing residents enjoying the music, waving their flags with pride, and spending time together with families and staff made the celebration incredibly special.
