Bere Grove Care Home is delighted to announce that it has officially become a Warm Welcome Space, offering local residents a place of connection, companionship, and community from Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm.

The Warm Welcome Campaign is entering an exciting new chapter. What began as a response to help people stay warm during the winter months has evolved into a nationwide movement focused on reducing loneliness, strengthening communities, and creating meaningful connections all year round. Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown has described the network of Warm Welcome Spaces as a "Chain of Hope", bringing people together through kindness, support, and friendship.

At Bere Grove Care Home, visitors can enjoy a warm and friendly environment, meet new people, and take advantage of the home's welcoming facilities. Guests visiting the home's café can also enjoy complimentary tea and cake, making it the perfect place to relax, socialise, or simply take a break during the day.

Community engagement has always been at the heart of life at Bere Grove. The home already welcomes local residents to a variety of regular events that promote wellbeing, friendship, and support.

These include:

  • Gentlemen's Club on the first and third Friday of every month at 2.30pm

  • Dementia Disco on the last Friday of every month at 3.30pm

  • Regular visits from a Police Community Support Officer, who hosts community surgeries and provides residents and local people with an opportunity to discuss any concerns or seek advice.

Graham Allen, General Manager at Bere Grove Care Home, said: "We are incredibly proud to become a Warm Welcome Space and to support a campaign that reflects so many of our own values. At Bere Grove, we believe that everyone benefits from feeling connected, valued, and part of a community. Our doors are open to people of all ages, whether they would like to meet friends, enjoy a cup of tea, attend one of our events, or simply spend time in a welcoming environment. We are passionate about building strong relationships with our local community and creating opportunities for people to come together. Becoming a Warm Welcome Space is a natural extension of what we do every day, and we look forward to welcoming even more people into our home."

Bere Grove Care Home is committed to enriching the lives of both residents and the wider community. By joining the Warm Welcome network, the home hopes to strengthen local connections, combat social isolation, and provide a safe and welcoming place where everyone feels they belong. Members of the community are invited to drop in between 9.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, to experience the warmth and hospitality that make Bere Grove such a special place.
