Adams Morey team raises £2,390 for cash for kids with Spinnaker Tower abseil
Four Adams Morey colleagues conquered their fears and raised £1,745 for Cash for Kids after taking on a 100-metre abseil down Portsmouth's iconic Spinnaker Tower.

The challenge saw Euan Lovegrove, Michael Phippard, Steve Mortlock and Andy Smith descend the side of one of the South Coast's most recognisable landmarks in support of the charity, which helps children and young people facing poverty, illness, neglect and other disadvantages.
Representing Adams Morey sites in Eastleigh, Nursling and Portsmouth, the team swapped the comfort of solid ground for harnesses and helmets as they stepped over the edge of the 170-metre tower.
While the views across Portsmouth Harbour were spectacular, the prospect of abseiling 100 metres to the ground below proved to be a nerve-racking experience for even the bravest participants.
Despite a few butterflies at the top, all four successfully completed the challenge, raising an impressive £2,390 to support the vital work carried out by Cash for Kids across local communities.
Cash for Kids provides practical and financial support to children and young people who need it most, helping to make a real and immediate difference to families facing hardship.
Andy Smith, Service & Bodyshop Operations Manager at Adams Morey Portsmouth, said: "Standing at the top of the Spinnaker Tower and looking over the edge certainly gets your attention. There were definitely a few nervous moments before stepping off, but knowing we were raising money for such a cause made it all worthwhile."
"We're incredibly proud of what we achieved as a team and overwhelmed by the support we've received. Raising £2,390 for Cash for Kids is a fantastic result, and we'd like to thank everyone who donated and encouraged us along the way."
The fundraising challenge brought together colleagues from across Adams Morey's southern operations, with the team keen to push themselves outside their comfort zones while supporting a cause that makes a tangible difference to the lives of local children and families.
Although the abseil is now complete, the memories of the day, and the achievement of raising £2,390 for charity, will stay with the team for a long time to come.
Lisa Congdon, Charity Cluster Manager, Cash for Kids Central South Coast said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Adams Morey for their continued support of Cash for Kids. Not only have they been fantastic supporters of Mission Christmas over the years, generously providing us with a van free of charge to help collect gifts across the region, but they are also encouraging their teams to get involved and make a real difference in their local communities.
Their commitment was on full display again at the Spinnaker Tower Abseil Challenge on 5th September, where four colleagues took part and raised an amazing £2,390. We are proud to be strengthening our relationship with Adams Morey and are hugely thankful for their partnership, enthusiasm, and dedication to helping local children and families. A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who took part."
