A celebration of community work in Gosport

The Gosport community is invited to a special event in the town centre on Saturday April 11, to celebrate the work of charities and groups in the borough and the emergency services keeping the community safe.

Gosport Community Day will take over Gosport High Street, Lawrence Square and the Town Hall reception from 11am to 2pm, featuring a variety of stalls, demonstrations and fun activities for all ages. The free event, run by Community First, Safer Gosport and Gosport Borough Council, offers people a unique opportunity to connect with local charities, groups and clubs to find out about volunteering opportunities in the area and learn about what’s happening locally.

Tim Houghton, Chief Executive of Community First, said: “Gosport Community Day is a fantastic opportunity for people to learn about the incredible work being done in the community, that is often not shouted about.

“For anyone interested in learning about how to get involved in volunteering and the opportunities available in the area, it’s worth attending.”
