A change of ownership at the end of last year has seen its staff enthusiastic work behind the scenes for the past few months to make improvements at Southsea Model Village, with more detail added to many of its existing buildings and scenes.
And there has also been a few more additions - including a van for the popular Jacket Potato Lady who is based in Commercial Road - with more to come, including high hopes that the attraction will have its very own model of the Spinnaker Tower.
Owner Mark Wilson told The News that the village team were hoping to take the family attraction “to the next level”.
He said: “We have built a new sailing club this year, the Spud Lady from Commercial Road she has got her own little van in here now and we have just put a few more details in some of the older buildings.”
He added that the model village, which is celebrating its 70th birthday, was also planning a number of events throughout the year including an Easter Egg hunt, dinosaur day and a visit from children’s entertainer Silly Scott.
