I’ll admit I’m one of these people who think Christmas starts in December - the idea of putting my tree up in November just fills me with horror!
But the countdown to Christmas is now on. So whether it is festive illuminations, pantos or markets there are plenty of opportunities to make sure the build up to the big day is simply magical.
Here are my top places to visit and favourite family activities to enjoy this festive season.

5. Keydell Nurseries Woodland Walk
A trip to the Keydell Nurseries Woodland Walk is an absolute must for my family every year. The Horndean garden centre has really outdone itself again with its walk which is perfect for all ages. Just make sure you book ahead to secure your time slot! | Habibur Rahman

6. Head to a fabulous small event to get into the festive spirit
If you need any more help getting into the Christmas spirit then look no further than a multitude of festive markets and events taking place across the area. From church halls to tourist attractions there are so many to choose from. One popular one is the festive market at Port Solent taking place on December 7 and 8. | The News Photo: Mike Cooter

7. Fabulous festive lights
Taking a stroll around many residents streets will certainly get you in the festive mood - with so many houses going all out. I wish I had their enthusiasm! I especially love this one by Bill and Barbara Wright whose home can be found in The Crossway in Portchester. This year their display is raising money for | Chris Moorhouse

8. Support your local businesses
So many of our fantastic eateries, pubs, cafes and restaurants are offering fabulous festive menus and treats this Christmas. So meet up with your friends or take out the family and make sure you support them - I know a few festive mac and cheese treats are in my future! | timolina - stock.adobe.com
