Excitement as the countdown begins for the immersive ‘Christmasville’ at Gunwharf Quays which is replacing Christmas Village

‘Christmasville’ festive attraction – billed as the dazzling, first-of-its-kind experience is set to capture the magic of the season when it opens at on Friday 21 November, featuring two nine-metre indoor entertainment domes complete with fully immersive projection screens, live theatre, a bar and a Christmas grotto creating a shimmering festive wonderland.

At the heart of Christmasville will be ‘The Elf Emporium’, an immersive theatrical adventure, where guests will join the Warden of Wonders and their mischievous apprentice, Pip, on a journey through three enchanted realms – Joy, Presence and Hope – unlocking the very essence of Christmas through live performance, puppetry, and projection.

Children will also have the chance to meet Santa in a traditional Christmas grotto, creating a treasured festive memory with the grotto running until December 24.

The Bauble Bar, a cosy festive hub offering themed food and warming drinks throughout the day and into the evening, will also open on November 21 alongside the rest of Christmasville. Perfect for adults looking for a seasonal social spot, the Bauble Bar promises a relaxed, atmospheric space to enjoy festive flavours and cocktails.

The attraction replaces the Christmas Village which featured a big wheel and market stalls and had been at Gunwharf for the past few years. However the Bauble Bar will be free to enter and there will be other festive food stalls outside Christmasville for shoppers to enjoy.

• From 21 – 30 November, The Elf Emporium & Santa’s grotto will be open from Friday – Sunday

• From 5 – 16 December, The Elf Emporium & Santa’s grotto will be open from Wednesday – Monday, but closed on Tuesdays

• From 17 – 24 December, The Elf Emporium & Santa’s grotto will be open daily

• From 26 – 31 December, The Elf Emporium will be open daily

• From 2 – 4 January, The Elf Emporium will be open daily
