Portsmouth100 exhibition showcases 'Faces and Places of Pompey' through photographer Penny Plimmer's lens
The free exhibition at The Keppel's Head Hotel features 100 captivating images of Portsmouth and its people
The ‘Faces and Places of Pompey’ have been captured in a new exhibition as part of the Portsmouth100 celebrations.
The city and its people have been caught on camera in 100 captivating images seen through the lens of local photographer Penny Plimmer. The free exhibition is at The Keppel’s Head Hotel on The Hard from Monday to Friday next week (September 28 to October 2).

The event has been pulled together by Portsmouth Business Exchange, a not-for-profit networking group for local businesses, as its contribution to the city’s centenary year.
A spokesperson for the group said: ‘We are so excited to share this with you. Faces and Places of Pompey is a brand new exhibition created specially to mark Portsmouth100.
‘Portsmouth has always been more than just a place on a map. It is the people you pass on the seafront, the businesses that have been here for generations, the hidden corners that only locals know about, and the everyday moments that make this city feel like home. But most of all it is the unsung heroes. The people quietly doing extraordinary things without any fanfare. Over one incredible week we are putting all of that on the walls.

‘All 100 photographs are the work of Penny Plimmer, whose beautiful eye for this city and its people shines through every single shot. Together we want to shine a light on the faces and places that make Portsmouth what it really is.’
The opportunity to sponsor any of the photos is still available with all money made from the exhibition going to Connors Toy Library, which for more than 50 years has been supporting families by making sure children have the toys, the space, and the support they need to play, learn, and grow.
