Read my full recap from The Celebrity Traitors first ever final. Here’s everything that happened:
Who were the Celebrity Traitors finalists?

Cast your mind all the way back to the start of the show, in the early weeks of October. The full cast of 19 stars stepped through the doors to the Traitors Castle for the very first time.
Over the next eight episodes they were thrust into a game of deceit, subterfuge, and deception by Claudia Winkleman and the producers. They were seriously whittled down throughout the series until just five were left.
Seven stars have been ‘murdered’ by the traitors with seven more banished at the roundtable. Out of the original trio of traitors, two have made it to the final.
The line-up for the final - at least at the start of it - is set to be the following:
- Alan Carr - traitor
- Cat Burns - traitor
- David Olusoga - faithful
- Joe Marler - faithful
- Nick Mohammed - faithful
What was the mission in the final?
Unlike previous episodes of the series, the episode did not open with the reveal of the identity of a murdered player. All five of the remaining players made it to the final breakfast - but that didn’t mean they would get off lightly.
Before the last mission was revealed, the celebs had plenty of reminiscing over their time in the castle so far. Joe Marler described the missions as the “best part” of the show - they have certainly been entertaining!
Claudia teased a train based final mission. Full steam ahead players!
They were taken by cars to the train station, the one that the regular season usually sees players arrive at. Claudia told them they would add £20,000 to the prize fund, if they were successful.
A steam train quickly pulled up behind them and the iconic host warned them that they would have to be very “fast”. They had to find keys to unlock a locked crate, with one in each carriage - but it wouldn’t be simple and they had just 20 minutes.
There was also a lovely bit of camp drama with ‘explosives’ also being in the crates and they had to return to Claudia with the gold before they went off after it reached the final stop.
The players even had to find a key on an outdoor carriage, which reminds me a bit of that level on Uncharted 2. For any gamers reading this right now!
It might not be Bonfire Night but the mission ended with fireworks and the promised explosions did arrive.
How much money was in the prize pot?
The final prize pot after that last mission stood at a massive £87,500. The winner or winners would give the money to charities of their choice - unlike the regular version.
Who was banished on Celebrity Traitors?

As previously mentioned, none of the players were murdered at the start of the episode and it meant that all five of the finalists made it to the final roundtable. Similar to the regular version, the player who was banished at this would not reveal their identity.
It would be followed by the fire pit, where the players would decide whether to end the game or continue to banish. It meant that plenty of potential to fall at the final hurdle - literally!
Heading into the roundtable, it was squaring up to potentially be a split between Cat and David over who would leave. It was a pivotal moment and could be make or break for both the faithful and traitors.
Nick started the discussion with bringing up Alan’s new particularly his behaviour at breakfast each morning. Joe also brought up Alan forgetting he had a shield in an earlier episode.
David brought up Joe because he is hard to read and often leads the hunt at the roundtable. He suggested it could be great traitor behaviour - or a very good faithful.
After the discussion came the voting. The vote at the final roundtable was as follows:
- David Olusoga - 2
- Cat Burns - 3
It meant that Cat Burns was banished and as such did not win the game. She was one of the two traitors - leaving just Alan Carr!
The final four was: Alan Carr, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed.
What happened in the endgame?
Following the final roundtable, the players headed to the firepit - which had been moved indoors this time, what a twist! The first vote saw them decide to continue the game and banish again.
The next player to go was Joe Marler - getting three votes, including from his close friend in the game Nick Mohammed. It left Alan, David, and Nick.
Once more they had the chance to end the game or banish again, Claudia went round with the pouches and the selections were made. Alan voted to end the game, so did David, and it came down to Nick - who voted to end the game.
Who won the Celebrity Traitors tonight?
Following the last banishment and the ending of the game, the winner of Celebrity Traitors was confirmed to be Alan Carr.
He revealed himself to be a traitor, thus stealing all the money and winning the game. He told them “I’m so sorry, it’s been tearing me apart” but the two others comforted him and praised him for his ‘brilliant’ game.
Finalists discuss the end of Celebrity Traitors
Speaking ahead of the final, the five remaining celebrities discussed their time in the castle. Here’s what they had to say:
Alan Carr
“It feels amazing to be in the final, I think me and the entire nation didn’t believe I would get through the first roundtable let alone be in the final five. What a journey!! I would do it all again in a heartbeat.”
Cat Burns
“It feels amazing to be a finalist. I’ve been a super fan of the show for a while, I’ve watched literally all the episodes from previous series so I backed myself but I know how unpredictable it can be so I went in, decided to be myself and just hope for the best.”
David Olusoga
“I never thought I would get to the final, and the way I’ve played so far I probably didn’t deserve to get to the final. It’s so random but an amazing game because so much of it is chance as well as strategy.”
Joe Marler
“I didn’t think I’d get on the show let alone make it to the final! It is a privilege to have made it this far. I’ve always been very competitive, I pretty much want to win at everything I play, whether that’s rugby, Monopoly, or a kick around in the garden with my boys.
“Bombed out of a home World Cup in 2015, lost in the World Cup Final 2019, lost in the World Cup Semi Final 2023, I’m a serial loser! To finally win something would be lovely.
“I’m proud that it was the big dog theory - that Joe Wilkinson and myself came up with - that resulted in the toppling of the first Traitor, Jonathan, and now I’ve just got to finish the job!”
Nick Mohammed
“I always hoped I’d make the final but no I think it’s dangerous to anticipate that. Particularly as a Faithful, it’s just so rare because it’s just the roll of the dice as to whether you’re going to get murdered and of course you can be banished as well. It’s kind of out of your hands so maybe if you’re a Traitor at the start you have a bit more control of the game.
“As a Faithful I thought, here we go, every day. You survive another day and you just look to the next day really. So what a joy to be in the final.”
The result of Celebrity Traitors leaked early after it was released 24 hours ahead of time outside the UK. The BBC issued the following statement on the leak.
