New Music Friday: FKA Twigs, The Neighbourhood, Blondshell and this weekend's other big releases

A look ahead to this weekend’s biggest album releases in the United Kingdom, and what time you can expect them to drop digitally.

  • FKA Twigs is set to release her sequel to Eusexua on New Music Friday this week.
  • There are also new albums from Blondshell, Cheap Trick and a surprising supergroup collaboration.
  • Here are what you can expect to drop overnight, and what time you’ll be able to listen to this week’s new album releases.

Admittedly, compared to other New Music Fridays, this week seems a little slim in terms of new releases.

But that doesn’t mean we don’t have some big hitters set to arrive in stores and streaming services over the weekend ahead; and with the year winding down and Christmas songs about to permeate the airwaves... the television... shopping centres... our ears—then perhaps there is a reason that artists are holding off for the big march towards the end of the financial year?

But we are going to be treated to what was once set to be a deluxe edition of an album now becoming a sequel, a return for 80s rock favourites and Mike Patton teaming up for an unusual collaboration—but owing to the Faith No More/Tomahawk/Fantômas lead singer’s penchant for doing things off-kilter, long-time fans kind of expected it.

Here are your big releases coming up on New Music Friday this week—and what time they’re dropping on digital services.

This week’s big releases - November 14

FKA twigs – Eusexua Afterglow

The boundary-pushing English singer returns with her fourth studio album, Eusexua Afterglow. Initially envisioned as a deluxe expansion of her previous work, the project quickly evolved into a powerful and complete sequel, delivering 11 entirely new tracks.

Having been preceded by the singles ‘Cheap Hotel’ and ‘Predictable Girl,’ the album promises a blend of unpredictable sonic textures and abrasive, yet accessible, elements. Eusexua Afterglow sees twigs continuing to challenge pop conventions while expanding on the complex, cinematic, and emotional world she has built, making it one of the year's most anticipated late-entry releases.

The Neighbourhood – (((((UltraSOUND)))))

After a period of hiatus, The Neighbourhood returns with (((((UltraSOUND))))), an album that signals a powerful return to the band's foundational roots. Recorded with long-time collaborator Justyn Pilbrow and later finished with producer Jono Dorr, the album embraces a stripped-back sound, choosing feeling and mood over previous gloss or pop polish.

With the successful release of early tracks like ‘Private,’ ‘OMG,’ and ‘Lovebomb,’ the California-based alt-rock band is poised to begin a compelling new chapter, which will be followed by their comprehensive 'The Wourld Tour' in 2026.

UltraSOUND embodies a group trusting their core moody aesthetic and genre-blending sound once again.

Blondshell – Another Picture

LA-based indie rock artist Blondshell (Sabrina Teitelbaum) follows up her critically praised self-titled debut with Another Picture, a companion album set to reimagine and expand her previous material.

Set to include both new original songs and covers from artists and friends, the project looks to build on the momentum that earned her spots on numerous "Best of 2025" lists earlier this year.

The companion piece is a reflective and collaborative effort, showcasing the artist's rapidly growing influence and her commitment to evolving the sound and narrative of her already successful debut.

AVTT/PTTN – AVTT/PTTN

In one of the most surprising and creatively fertile collaborations of the year, The Avett Brothers (Scott and Seth Avett) have teamed up with Faith No More and Mr. Bungle frontman Mike Patton to form the supergroup AVTT/PTTN.

This new album is a collision of disparate musical worlds, featuring original songs written by the trio together and produced by Patton, Scott Avett, and Grammy-winning engineer Dana Nielsen. What began as a casual exchange of admiration grew into a genuine partnership, pushing The Avetts into new sonic territory (like the fuzz-heavy "Heaven's Breath") while leveraging Patton's trademark dynamic range.

The album is an adventurous, boundary-free exploration forged by three artists working at their most collaborative.

What other albums are being released this weekend?

It’s a rather quiet New Music Friday in terms of huge album releases, but here’s the best of the rest you can expect this weekend:

  • Cheap Trick – All Washed Up
  • Austra – Chin Up Buttercup
  • The Bros. Landreth – Dog Ear

What time do new albums appear on streaming services?

For the biggest albums of the week (especially those from major international artists like FKA twigs, The Neighbourhood, and Blondshell), the music is generally released at 12am Eastern Time (ET) in the US.

This means that for listeners in the UK (operating on GMT), new music will typically appear on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music at 5am Friday.

However, some artists or smaller labels still opt for a local release, meaning the album will appear right at 12:00 AM (Midnight) GMT on Friday. If you wake up and the album isn't there, it’s likely set for global synchronisation at 5:00 AM GMT.
