Stagecoach extends Service 21 to boost access to Airport Industrial Estate and Anchorage Park

Stagecoach South has introduced a series of improvements to its popular Service 21, making bus travel a first choice for residents travelling to and from work.
The popular Service 21 carries over 15,000 passengers each week around the city, connecting Anchorage Park with Copnor, Fratton, and Gunwharf Quays.
On October 26, the route was extended to provide direct links to the Airport Industrial Estate and Anchorage Park. Early results show strong uptake on the extended route, reflecting growing demand from workers and visitors to the area.
The enhanced access to the Airport Industrial Estate is expected to benefit dozens of local employers and the people who travel there daily, helping support shift workers and strengthen sustainable travel options across the city.
These improvements form part of the city’s partnership commitment to improving bus services for its residents, ensuring public transport continues to support Portsmouth’s economy and community.
Colin Ashcroft, Operations Manager at Stagecoach South, said: “These changes are designed to make bus travel the first choice option for people travelling to and from work. By extending Service 21 into key employment hubs such as the Airport Industrial Estate and Anchorage Park, we aim to improve connectivity and provide better access for commuters.”
